The eclectic Welsh singer/songwriter Jemma Griffiths (better known simply as Jem) follows her 2004 debut, 'Finally Woken', with the long-awaited 'Down To Earth'. As with her debut, 'Finally Woken' exemplifies the wide generic range that Jem works within, touching on straight pop, rock and some world music influences. Interestingly, the song 'You Will Make It' features a collaboration with the activist Vusi Mahlasela, wherein the two muse on the nature of loss relating to theSeptember 11th terrorist attacks. Overall, though, those who found Jem's playful eclecticism charming will find much toenjoy here.
